Two years ago, at 13, I joined the NextGen I.T Masterclass at Hostalite. This program teaches kids aged 10+ about Computer Science Basics, Coding, and Computational Thinking. It was so much fun, and I’m really glad I got to be part of it.
Later, during a Boot Camp under the Boys Mentorship Program led by Mr. Godfrey Kuteesa, we visited a prison. It wasn’t just a visit—it was an experience that taught us a lot. We got to meet the prisoners, hear their stories, and even give them gifts. Some of them took us to the farm and shared how they’ve changed their lives, many of them giving their hearts to Jesus Christ.
This inspired me to design my very first website from scratch, using only HTML and CSS—no templates! The website, Hopeful Tide, is dedicated to the prisoners, to give them hope and remind them that their lives can be better. It’s based on John 14:27:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Since then, I’ve started learning website design using Content Management Systems like WordPress, and I’m excited about what’s next!
Let me know what you think about Hopeful Tide!
